Served dinner-party style in the lodge's dining room, daily menus are executed by our head chef, Ernst Hoekstra, to feature fresh local produce and organic vegetables from the lodge's kitchen garden all cooked with passion. Peter has selected the best wines from the Nelson region to compliment our dinner menus.
A candle-lit table in our private dining room or on our romantic outdoor platform is available for anyone celebrating a special occasion.
The Lodge Package gives the unique New Zealand Lodge experience with full breakfasts, daily aperitifs & table d‘hote lodge dining.
We offer an alternative casual dinner option of a 3-course dinner, chef-prepared starter and dessert with either a salad platter or BBQ ingredients as the main course to eat in your suite one evening, just let us know by 9am, ideal for honeymoons.

Lodge-dining is like a dinner party and your host plans a daily set menu. It is not an a la carte restaurant with choices. Please let us know any dietary restrictions when booking.
If you dislike or cannot eat any common foods, we need to know this in advance so we can adapt the menu to suit you.

All our soups, sauces & dressings are home-made - we bake our own bread - eggs from Kate‘s happy hens who free-range in the Riwaka Valley - salad, herbs & vegetables from our garden, Mrs Smith in Riwaka and local suppliers - fish and salmon from the Nelson - Marlborough areas, smoked in Mapua - goats cheese from Golden Bay and sheeps cheese from the Moutere - coffee from free trade organic suppliers - wine from Nelson wineries and olive oils from the Moutere Valley - salamis and sausages from Doris at Motueka Market and bacon from the Rai Valley - apples, pears, kiwi fruit and some fantastic berry fruits from Motueka - pure spring water, filtered through the marble of Takaka Hill, comes straight from our taps....
